Suffering from dry skin? Here comes the savoir. When it comes to moisturisers (Or even sunscreens), Aveeno has always been my preferred brand. My mum is like the hugest fan of their hand cream. I have to buy tons of it before every trip back home. Its her fragrance-free delight. My mum-in-law suffers from chronic cracked heels and extremely dry hands and there is nothing she trusts except the Aveeno body lotion (the minted version in tube).
And this winters Aveeno has come out with a fragrance-free body care range, suitable for the most sensitive of skins. I've been using the new body wash and lotion for over a month n half now and I'm totally hooked!
Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash ($16.99 NZD)
So its a creamy body wash like Weleda Wild Rose Creamy Body Wash, but this one lathers slightly so. Don't expect no crazy lathering Palmolive jazz from this though. Its rather mild. The body wash is marketed as fragrance-free but my nose can sense something citrus-y. I see citric acid in ingredients so maybe its that! You can't detect the scent unless you're a nosy blogger ;)
You need a teaspoon of body wash for the whole body. Its so incredibly silky, cleans all right and when rinsed leaves a film of moisture on. So skin feels a bit slippery and no amount of water helps. You kinda have to get used to the feeling.
But what it means is, its perfect for those suffering from dry skin in colder months. The oaty goodness leaves your skin with a healthy dose of natural moisture.
I have dry skin issues and can not live without lathering body lotion all over me after shower but believe me I tried skipping the lotion after this body wash and my skin survived. No itchy surprise!
Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion ($16.99 NZD)
The white fragrance-free lotion comes in a convenient pump packaging. The lotion is neither super thick nor runny. It sinks into skin in like 1-2 minutes and locks in moisture for more than 24 hours. Pretty heavy duty aye? I'd say its best for dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin types. If you have oily skin, this might feel a bit too much. It's great for wintery hands and feet too. You can guess my dry skin is having a ball!
The only drawback would be the pump action that has stopped pumping out lotion even though I have a month's worth left inside. Why you no put longer tube inside Aveeno?
In summary, if you have dry, extremely dry, sensitive or itchy skin...get on board! Aveeno is the way to go this winter. Both lotion and body wash ensure long lasting moisture boost for well over 24 hours. The range is oats based and fragrance free so will soothe even the most finicky of skin types.
If you have oily skin, maybe just use this sparingly. It might feel too heavy for daily use.
The range also features a Mositurising Cream ($25.99) which I'm assuming is even more heavy duty- perfect for elbows n heels!
